Dukan Diet 2013 -- Week 1 Wednesday

Day 2
Weight: 150.50b (68.27kg, 10.54st)
Total Dukan 2013: no change!
Total lost since 3/2011: 7.50lb (3.40kg, .54st)

Water intake: 90oz, 15oz lemonade, 12 oz herbal tea (117oz = 3.46l)

Exercise: walked at lunch, walked a little after work

Today was a PV day.  I am going to try to see if taking probiotics improves my endless bloating/wind issues.  I am also going to try taking iodine.  These were both recommended by Dr. William Davis, author of "Wheat Belly".  I am continuing to be gluten/cow dairy free, and am feeling better, but not optimal.  Still not getting my exercise regimen started...  It's been warm but raining.  Maybe tomorrow!

1 scoop e.w. protein powder
Colonix
Goat yogurt
2 small broiled pork w/mustard
Butternut squash
Manchego cheese
Walnuts
Goat yogurt
Chicken meatballs (the really salty ones!)
More goat yogurt

Dukan Diet 2013 -- Day 1 Tuesday

Day 1
Weight: 150.50b (68.27kg, 10.54st)
Total Dukan 2013: none yet!
Total lost since 3/2011: 7.50lb (3.40kg, .54st)

Water intake: 75oz, 30oz lemonade, 12 oz herbal tea (117oz = 3.46l)

Exercise: walked at lunch

I need to have goals and I need to post regularly!  The winging-it method is keeping me stable, but it's not helping me lose, and I need to lose 10lb in 17 days if possible!  I also need to get back into walking shape, otherwise I'll be suffering on our trip.  The next few days are going to be warm, so best to take advantage!  Today is a PP day

1 scoop e.w. protein powder
2 small broiled pork w/mustard
Goat yogurt
Manchego cheese
Walnuts
Goat yogurt
Smoked salmon
More goat yogurt

Another catchup post

I'm doing a PP day today. My weight hasn't gone below 150 yet.  I was at 150.5 this morning, and I was a little puffy (I had peas for dinner yesterday).

Over the last two weeks, I found out I'm mildly allergic to almonds, so my go-to nuts are now out as a regular staple.  It makes sense though, as I craved them and would eat multiple handfuls at a go.  I've now gotten a bag of walnuts, and one handful is enough.

I managed to get through my younger DD's birthday by eating gluten-free sweets, but it's still calories.  I'd like to get a little smaller before our trip in mid-February.  I need to start doing those kettle-bell swings and eating Dukan again.  I've been sneaking a few prunes in too.  I also bought some small apples, so on a PV day, I'll have one as a treat.

Under the weather

I had to leave work early yesterday, and stayed home today, drinking endless fluids.  I think I was dehydrated as well as sleep-deprived.  I was eating several meals of salty foods per week, sometimes on consecutive days, which led to the dehydration.  I'm feeling a lot better, and I made a point today of eating only basic foods, to make sure I wasn't getting any hidden ingredients. Yesterday I had rice, so I did have more carbs, but I had to make sure that wasn't the problem.

1 scoop e.w. protein powder
Almonds throughout the day
Prunes here and there
16oz carrots (steamed)
Steak w/a blob of bbq sauce

I did eat a few gluten-free crackers before I stopped myself, they had salt!

I've had insomnia, which may be related to the dehydration, or then again to menopause.  I am going to try Tazo Rest tea tonight, (going to bed at 9 instead of 11) and I will buy some valerian and give that a try if the Tazo Rest isn't enough.

MIA -- back in action hopefully!

I've spent most of December not doing well diet-wise, there are so many holiday/birthday events I didn't want to skip.  Anyway, only one more birthday to come in 9 days, and then clear sailing until our trip in mid-February.

Exercise-wise I have been resisting doing P90X, because I've found that I really have to do it in an all-or-nothing way, and I just didn't want to invest the 1hr a day...  I am instead going to try to do kettlebell swings.  It's a whole-body workout that I can do in a small amount of time watching TV, so hopefully that will work for me.  I can always do P90X routines to supplement when I feel like it, but no pressure anymore.

Sad to say, my weight is 151.5 lb today.  I haven't been below 150 in a few weeks now.  This is higher than it was last year at this time!  This is what happens when motivation goes away.  I am going to do mostly Dukan with some Primal tossed in.  I do want to be able to eat fruit once in a while, I am especially missing apples!  I don't think I've had one in almost a year.  Better to have an apple than some of the other stuff I've been eating...

Today is a PP day, but I did have 2 sausages w/my scrambled eggs this morning, to slowly edge me back to sugar/crap-free eating.
