Dukan Diet 2013 -- Week 7 & 8 catchup post

Day 44-54
My weight is still hovered in the 150-152 area. The countdown wasn't helping me stay with the program. I've had a beer 1-2x a week, I had wine last week Wednesday.  This Wednesday I had a G&T, some chocolate, 1 piece of sushi w/rice, and a suspicious sauce with some baby lambchops at a catered office function.  I have increased my walking, I walked 1hr after work yesterday, got off one stop early today, and have gone out and walked around the neighborhood every lunch this week. Today is a PP day.

I started taking copper, selenium, Vit E & potassium supplements earlier this week, in case these would help get rid of "age spots".  Sometimes it can be due to a deficiency, so I thought I'd give it a try.  I am also drinking gotu kola which may also help with the spots, and nettle tea to help with kidney and liver functions.

Had a long talk with my friend who is an herbalist, talking about my digestive issues.  I mentioned how I felt a lot better, and wasn't having bloating issues in Belgium.  What was different?  I wasn't drinking as much water, I was having a beer a day, and I was away from my pets.  Since my trip I've decreased my water intake.  I also cut out an extra allergen (stevia).  I have also increased my walking, not as much as I should, but it was down to minimum required to get to work & home.  So now I am going to try having a beer on PV days.  I am going to continue to have minimal carbs on PP days, so no yogurt tomorrow.

I met the same friend for lunch. I wasn't good about avoiding the chocolate & dairy either.  I am continuing the cleansing program, but I am adding some wormwood tincture and hand-made freshly ground clove capsules.  I still feel like my system is not right.  Maybe it's parasites, maybe it's a candida problem.  I'm hoping this will solve whatever it is.

Still coughing up junk from my lungs, but it's getting better I guess.  Still sounds terrible though. Found a good article re: carnitine, red meat & heart disease, courtesy of Fat Head.  Made me feel a lot better about my steak!

I made it to work, but I'm definitely not 100% yet.  I forgot my makeup bag, so all I had was foundation.  I'll have to pick something up at lunch.  Well, that NYTimes article regarding meat, carnitine & heart disease was sort of scary, but then again, I wonder if people who were not eating grain would have the same bacteria?  No idea.  Anyway, since I've always craved beef, I'm going to stick to it for now.

I'm feeling a little better, but still feeling lousy, just less lousy than yesterday!  My eyes actually hurt after I've been using my laptop a while.  I had lemon balm tea last night before bed, and I slept better and longer. As for the Colonix protocol, usually after 30/60/90 days, there's 5 day break from the pills.  Friday was day 50, so I'll take the break now, and give my body a rest from them.

Still sick.  I fell asleep before I had my lemon balm tea, and boy did I notice the difference.  I woke up constantly and couldn't go back to sleep after 6:30.  I had some honey with my tea, but now I'm worried it might add to my allergies, so it's back to the coconut sugar tomorrow.  I've also been doing Dr. Natura's Colonix protocol with Paranil, but today I didn't have the pills.

So I'm home sick today.  Must have woken up at least 10x, and used up at least a box of tissues.  I am on day two of no stevia, so I'm not sure if this is a cold or my system clearing out.  My lungs are clearing, and that's usually not part of the beginning of a cold, but it does happen when I've been eating dairy and stop.  My lungs immediately start to get rid of the extra fluid.  It might also explain why I've been stuck.  I also didn't have my protein powder, it also has stevia.  I've been putting coconut sugar instead in my tea.

Joy joy!  I broke the 150lb barrier!  I've been bouncing from 150-155lb for over 3 months, so I'm super excited!  However, by the end of the day, I felt a little puffy, either the carbs in the yogurt or the sodium in the tomato meat sauce.  Sadly, I don't think the scale is going to go down.

I redid the Dukan Diet schedule using Tuesday & Wednesday the 26th & 27th of March as the two days of Attack, and 60 days of Cruise ending on Tuesday May 27th.  So now, when I'm tempted to "cheat" even a little, I'm focused on how few days are left to be strict.  Today is only 56 days.

I thought I'd try the shirataki noodles, but I'm not going to have them again.  I got bloated again, and don't want to go through that again! Yes, they are zero carbs, but no thanks.
