Very annoying that the scale isn't showing a nicer number! I am no longer clogged, and I definitely expected more, but I did drink an entire glass of water in the middle of the night, so there's an extra pound. I am definitely smaller though. Today's going to be a cheat day, as it's my daughter's 16th birthday, and we'll be having Carvel ice cream steak (I mean cake!) & also chicken over rice. I'm going to use the 4HB trick to minimize the damage.
I ran out of Colonix fiber, so I had some oat bran
1.25 e.w. protein powder
Tasteless double turkey patty
Spaghetti squash
3 bars of chocolate -- yes I was bad
Gigantic serving of chicken over rice w/yogurt sauce
Small serving of carrot casserole
3 slices of Carvel ice cream cake
Red wine
We'll see what the scale shows tomorrow morning!
What is the 4HB trick? I've been on Dukan since mid-Dec and have been reading your blog since I found it a couple weeks ago, but in reading other blogs and forums, I don't think I ever came across anything called the 4HB trick. Curious minds want to know :-)

That's the 4-Hour Body (4HB), a book by Tim Ferriss. He calls his diet a slow-carb diet, which you are supposed to follow 6 days a week, and have 1 cheat meal or cheat day on the 7th day. He has a whole protocol of how to minimize any calorie/fat gain, including supplements. I do follow Dukan and tossed in 2 Ferris suggestions, which is drink some ice water and 30g within 60min of waking up. When I break my diet I try to incorporate as many suggestions of Ferriss' as I can. I only did the supplements 1x instead of 4x yesterday, but I had some lemonade (stevia-sweetened) and I did the pre-gorging mini-exercise which is supposed to stimulate the extra calories to go to muscles instead of fat stores. I also forgot to do the post-gorging exercise (90 minutes later), so I'm not sure what's going show up on the scale the next few days.
ReplyDeleteOops, that's 30g *protein* (I have an egg white protein drink for breakfast)
ReplyDeleteThanks for confirming that, I've read his 4 hour work week book, but I guess I should also check out the 4HB book !
